Day 1. Drive from Kisumu to Mbita, about 3 hours. Cross the causeway to Rusinga. Visit the Tom Mboya mausoleum and a fishing beach. Sunset on the lake.

Day 2. Boat to Mfangano, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Walk to the mfangano island rock art sites with a local guide, then lunch in a village.

Day 3. Morning on the Rusinga fossil beds, where remains of an early ape were found. Drive back to Kisumu.
