Questions people ask

Is it respectful to visit?

Yes, when it is arranged properly. Visits are agreed with local leaders and part of the fee goes to the community.

Can I take photos?

Ask first. Some people are happy, others are not. Your guide helps you ask.

When is the best season?

June to September and December to February. Some areas get very hot, so days start early.

Is the area safe?

Parts of the north see cattle raids at times. Lujui Kenya Travels checks local advice and changes the route if needed.

Can children come?

Older children who cope with heat and simple camps.

Can I go to West Pokot instead?

Yes. A west pokot tour from Kitale covers the highland side of Pokot country. Ask for a custom plan.
