Day 1. Drive north around Mount Kenya through Meru town, about 6 hours. Afternoon game drive.

Day 2. Full day in the park with the rhino sanctuary and palm lined rivers, looking for lions, elephants, reticulated giraffe and lesser kudu.

Day 3. Visit the area where Elsa is buried, then drive south toward the Tana River and Adamson's Falls.

Day 4. Early game drive, then drive back to Nairobi.

Will I see rhino?

Meru has a fenced rhino sanctuary with black and white rhino. Sightings are common but never promised.

When is the best season?

June to October and January to March. Long grass after the rains makes game viewing harder.

Can I fly instead?

Yes. Flights from Wilson reach an airstrip in the park in about 1 hour. Ask for a fly in quote.

Can children come?

Yes. Kids enjoy the rivers and the rhino sanctuary.

How does a meru park tour compare to the Masai Mara?
