Day 1. Drive from Nairobi via Narok, about 5 to 6 hours. Lunch at the lodge and an evening game drive.

Is Masai Mara 4 days 3 nights the right length?

For most first trips, yes. You get two full days of game drives and less rushing.

When should I go?

July to October for the migration. January to March and June are good value with fewer vehicles.

What are the reserve fees?

About USD 100 per adult per day from January to June and USD 200 from July to December for non residents. They are included.

How far is the Mara from Nairobi?

About 270 km to the eastern gates, so 5 to 6 hours with a stop.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Many mid range lodges have family rooms. Ages and child rates are confirmed in your quote.

Is this better than a masai mara tour package with a flight?

Driving costs less and lets you see the Rift Valley. Flying saves about 10 hours but adds cost.
