Day by day

Day 1. Drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, about 5 to 6 hours. Evening game drive.

Day 2. Full day in the Mara with a picnic lunch on the plains.

Day 3. Morning drive, then about 5 hours to Lake Nakuru. Late afternoon drive to look for black and white rhinos.

Day 4. Sunrise in Nakuru with Baboon Cliff views. Drive to Naivasha, about 1.5 hours, for an afternoon boat ride.

Day 5. Cycle or drive through Hell's Gate gorge, then back to Nairobi, about 2 hours.

Will I see flamingos at Lake Nakuru?

Sometimes. Flamingo numbers change with water levels. Rhinos, buffalo and Rothschild giraffes are far more reliable.

Is the Hell's Gate cycle hard?

It is mostly flat on a dirt track. You can ride part of it and let the vehicle follow if you get tired.

How much driving is there?

The longest day is the Mara to Nakuru leg at about 5 hours. The rest are shorter.

Can I upgrade to luxury lodges?
