The breakfast and dinner was on time and delicious... We even had a bonfire. Our tour guide: Cephas is the best tour guide and driver I've ever meet. He made our safari most memorable. He really has a heart of gold,he is very kind and will go beyond to make sure we see all the animals... He's just a 10/10... Also we had a great group all together. Day by day

Day 1. Scheduled flight from Nairobi to the Loisaba airstrip, about an hour and a quarter. Lunch at camp, then an afternoon game drive in the Loisaba Conservancy.

Day 2. Morning bush walk or camel ride. Late afternoon drive to the star beds, sundowners, dinner and a night on the open deck with a mosquito net and a guard nearby.

Day 3. Wake at sunrise over the plains. Breakfast, a short game drive and the flight back to Nairobi.

What are star beds Laikipia guests talk about?

They are large beds on raised wooden platforms. The beds roll out onto the open deck so you sleep under the sky, with a roof to roll back under if it rains.

Is it safe to sleep outside?

Yes. The platforms are raised and staff stay nearby through the night. You get a walkie talkie or a call button.

What wildlife lives in the loisaba conservancy?

Elephants, reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, wild dogs and big cats all move through the area.

When is the best time to go?

The dry months from June to October and January to March give the clearest skies.

Can children sleep on the star beds?

Child rules vary by camp and age. Lujui Kenya Travels confirms the rules before you book.
