Accommodation: The giraffe hills Mara camp was amazing. The host are really very kind(Mzee, Diana and the whole equipe)☺️... Bless their soul. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean... The breakfast and dinner was on time and delicious... We even had a bonfire. Our tour guide: Cephas is the best tour guide and driver I've ever meet. He made our safari most memorable. He really has a heart of gold,he is very kind and will go beyond to make sure we see all the animals... He's just a 10/10... Also we had a great group all together. Day by day

Morning. Drive from Nairobi past Naivasha to Gilgil, about 2 hours. Meet your armed ranger at the conservancy.

Midday. Rothschild giraffe walk across the grassland, with zebra, waterbuck and plenty of birds. Lunch at the conservancy lodge.

Afternoon. Short walk along the Malewa River, then drive back to Nairobi by early evening.

Is it safe to walk with the giraffes?

Yes. Kigio has no lions. An armed ranger leads every walk and keeps a respectful distance.

How far is Kigio from Nairobi?

About 2 hours by road, just off the Nairobi to Nakuru highway near Gilgil.

How long is the walk?

Usually 2 to 3 hours at an easy pace on flat ground. Wear closed shoes.

What else lives in the conservancy?

Zebra, impala, waterbuck, buffalo and over two hundred bird species. Hippos live in the Malewa River.

Can children walk too?

Yes, from about eight years with a parent close by.

When is the best time to go?

Any dry month works. Mornings are cooler and the light is better for photos.
