Accommodation: The giraffe hills Mara camp was amazing. The host are really very kind(Mzee, Diana and the whole equipe)☺️... Bless their soul. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean... The breakfast and dinner was on time and delicious... We even had a bonfire. Our tour guide: Cephas is the best tour guide and driver I've ever meet. He made our safari most memorable. He really has a heart of gold,he is very kind and will go beyond to make sure we see all the animals... He's just a 10/10... Also we had a great group all together. Day 1. Drive from Nairobi to Kalama, about 6 hours. Sundowner on the rocks.

Day 2. Morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Afternoon guided walk in Kalama. Night drive.

Day 3. Full day in Westgate conservancy with a visit to a Samburu village and the Ewaso Ng'iro river.

What is the difference between the reserve and a Westgate conservancy stay?

Conservancies allow walks and night drives and keep vehicle numbers low.

Do conservancies have the same animals?

Yes. Elephants, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and gerenuk move freely across all three areas.

When is the best time?

June to October and January to March are dry, with animals near the river.

Can children come?

Yes, though walks are usually for ages 12 and up.

Is it hot?

Yes. Middays are hot, so activities run early and late.

Can I fly in?

Yes. Flights from Nairobi to Kalama airstrip take about 1 hour.
