Accommodation: The giraffe hills Mara camp was amazing. The host are really very kind(Mzee, Diana and the whole equipe)☺️... Bless their soul. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean... The breakfast and dinner was on time and delicious... We even had a bonfire. Our tour guide: Cephas is the best tour guide and driver I've ever meet. He made our safari most memorable. He really has a heart of gold,he is very kind and will go beyond to make sure we see all the animals... He's just a 10/10... Also we had a great group all together. Day by day

Day 1. Morning at the Karen Blixen Museum in her old farmhouse. Drive up to the Ngong Hills to the grave of Denys Finch Hatton. Continue to the Masai Mara, about 5 hours.

Day 2. Full day in the Mara, the plains used for many sweeping film scenes. Optional dawn balloon flight for the aerial view the film made famous.

Day 3. Morning game drive, then drive to Lake Naivasha. Visit Elsamere, the lakeside home of Born Free author Joy Adamson.

Day 4. Boat ride on Lake Naivasha, then return to Nairobi by early afternoon.

Is the house in the film the real Karen Blixen home?

The museum is her real farmhouse. Many film scenes were shot on sets nearby, but the house holds her furniture and story.

Which film locations Kenya trips include can I still see?

The Ngong Hills, the Mara plains and the Rift Valley lakes still look much as they did on screen.

Is there an Out of Africa tour with a biplane flight?

A vintage biplane is not usually on offer. A balloon flight or a scenic light aircraft flight over the Mara can be added on request.

How long is the drive to the Mara?

About 5 hours from Karen, with a stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint.

When is the best time to go?

July to October for the migration. January to March is quieter and greener.

Can I add Giraffe Manor in Karen?

It can be requested for a night, subject to availability, arranged on request.
