The breakfast and dinner was on time and delicious... We even had a bonfire. Our tour guide: Cephas is the best tour guide and driver I've ever meet. He made our safari most memorable. He really has a heart of gold,he is very kind and will go beyond to make sure we see all the animals... He's just a 10/10... Also we had a great group all together. How many visitors to Lake Nakuru never make it to the south end of the park?

Day by day

Morning. Drive from Nairobi to Nakuru, about 3 hours. Game drive along the lake shore for rhinos, buffalo and pelicans.

Midday. Continue south to Makalia Falls for a picnic lunch at the campsite by the falls.

Afternoon. Drive north to baboon cliff nakuru for the view over the lake and the shoreline. Leave the park and drive back to Nairobi.

Does Makalia Falls flow all year?

It flows best during and after the rains, from April to June and in November. In dry months it can be a trickle.

Can I get out of the car?

Yes, at the Makalia picnic site and at Baboon Cliff. Stay near the vehicle as advised by your guide.

Will I see rhinos?

Both black and white rhinos live here. Sightings are common but never guaranteed.

How long is the drive from Nairobi?

About 3 hours each way. Staying a night in Nakuru makes the day slower and easier.

Are there baboons at Baboon Cliff?

Often. Keep food in the car, as they are bold.

Is it good for children?

Yes. The picnic stop and the view break up the drive nicely for kids.
