Questions people ask
When is the best time to volunteer?
School terms run January to March, May to July and September to November. Classroom projects work best in term time.
What should I pack?
Work clothes you do not mind painting in, modest dress for the village, a headtorch and a warm layer for Mara mornings.
What do the fees cover?
Your stay, meals, project materials, Mara park fees and all transport. There is no hidden placement fee.
How far is the project from Nairobi?
About 2 to 3 hours by road. The Mara is about 5 hours from the project.
Can teenagers join and is it safe?
Yes from age 14 with a parent or school leader. Your host lives on site and the ground team checks in daily.
How does this compare to a pure volunteer safari kenya tour?
Many tours spend one afternoon at a school. Here you give a full week, then rest with two nights on safari.
