Midday. Raft the Tana River rapids with your guide. Calm stretches let you swim and float.

When is the river best?

After the rains, around May to June and November to December, the rapids are bigger. Dry months are calmer.

What should I wear?

Quick dry clothes, secure sandals or old trainers, sunscreen and a change of clothes.

Are rafting fees included?

Yes. The river fee, gear and guides are all in the price.

How far is Sagana from Nairobi?

About 100 km, so roughly 2 hours on the Thika and Sagana road.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. The full run is usually for guests in their early teens and older. A calmer option may suit younger kids.

Is this the best white water rafting Nairobi groups can reach?

It is the closest serious rafting. Ndunda Falls near Embu adds a hike if your group wants more than water.
