Morning. Leave Nairobi at 7am and drive to Naivasha, about 2 hours. Fitting, safety briefing and a short test in the arena.

Midday. Two hour guided naivasha horse ride across a lakeside farm among giraffes, zebras, impala and waterbuck. Lunch at a lakeside spot.

Afternoon. Optional one hour boat ride to see hippos. Drive back, arriving in Nairobi early evening.

When is the best season?

Any month. Dry months from June to October and January to March keep the ground firm.

What should I pack?

Long trousers, boots with a small heel, a long sleeve top, sunscreen and a hat for after the ride.

Are fees included?

Yes. The farm conservation fee and helmet are included. No national park fees apply.

How far is Naivasha from Nairobi?

About 2 hours each way via the Mai Mahiu road or the Nakuru highway.

Can children ride and is it safe?

Children aged 8 and over can ride with a guide holding a lead. Stables set a rider weight limit, which is confirmed in your quote. Walk and trot rides suit beginners.

How does this compare to a Laikipia riding safari?

Naivasha is a one day taster close to Nairobi. Laikipia is a multi day trip for confident riders with longer canters.
