How do I get to Lamu from Nairobi?

Fly to Manda airstrip in about 1 hour 30 minutes. Some flights stop in Malindi on the way. A boat crosses to Lamu in about 10 minutes.

What is the luggage limit?

Usually 15 to 20 kg on the light aircraft. Soft bags are best.

What should I wear in Lamu town?

Lamu is a Muslim town. Cover shoulders and knees in town. Swimwear is fine on the beach.

When is the best time to go?

October to March is hot and calm. April to June brings the long rains and some places close.
