Day by day

Morning. Pickup at 6.30 am. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos, then drive on to Nakuru.

Midday. Game drive along the lake shore looking for white and black rhinos, buffalo, waterbuck and Rothschild's giraffe. Lunch in or near the park.

Afternoon. Drive up to Baboon Cliff for the view over the lake. One more loop for lions and leopards, then exit the park.

Evening. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving around 7 pm.

Will I see flamingos?

Sometimes. Flamingo numbers at Nakuru rise and fall with the water level. Pelicans and other water birds are almost always there.

Is the drive too long for one day?

It is about 160 km each way. Most of the day is spent in the park, not in traffic, if you leave early.

Are children welcome?
