Day 2. Drive about five hours to the Masai Mara. Evening game drive.

The migration is usually in the Mara from July to October. It is also the dry season, so roads are good and grass is short.

What should the family pack?

Fleece for cold mornings, sun hats, swimwear for Diani and soft bags for the small domestic flight.

Are park fees included?

Yes. Mara fees are higher from July. The full amount is already in your written quote.

How long are the journeys?

Nairobi to Naivasha is about two hours, Naivasha to the Mara about five. The flight to Ukunda about one hour.

Is a migration family safari safe for younger children?

Yes. Guides keep a safe distance at the river and children stay seated in the vehicle. Camps chosen accept all ages.

How does this compare with a safari only trip?

A safari only week gives more crossing chances. This split gives the family time to rest at the beach before the long flight home.
