Day 1. Nairobi Railway Museum with old steam locomotives and the coach linked to a man eating lion attack. Talk on Kenya railway history tour stories.

Day 2. SGR train from Nairobi to Voi, about 4 to 5 hours. Afternoon game drive in Tsavo East.

Day 3. Drive to the Tsavo river area to see the old railway bridge site of the man eater story. Continue to Mombasa, about 3 hours.

Day 4. Mombasa Old Town and Fort Jesus, then onward travel.

Does the old Lunatic Express still run?

The old passenger service to Mombasa has stopped. The modern SGR now runs the route faster on a new line.

What is uganda railway heritage?

The line was built from Mombasa toward Lake Victoria. Nairobi grew from a railway depot on the way.

Can I see the Tsavo lions?

The original lions are in a museum abroad. You see the bridge area and wild lions may show up on the game drive.

How long is the SGR ride?

About 4 to 5 hours from Nairobi to Voi. The full run to Mombasa takes about 5 to 6 hours.

Is it good for children?

Yes. Kids love the engines at the museum and the train ride.

Can I add beach days?

Yes. Diani or Malindi can follow the Mombasa day.
