Day 1. Arrive in Kisumu. Afternoon boat ride from Dunga beach and sunset at Hippo Point.

Day 2. Siaya day with Kit Mikayi rock and Nyang'oma Kogelo village.

Day 3. Drive to Homa Bay via Kendu Bay and the Simbi Nyaima crater lake, about 2.5 hours.

Day 4. Rusinga Island and the Tom Mboya mausoleum, then an afternoon in Ruma National Park, home of the rare roan antelope.

Day 5. Drive back to Kisumu, about 2.5 hours, for your flight.

Mostly culture and lake life. Ruma National Park adds a short game drive.

What is special about Ruma National Park?

It is the only place in Kenya where roan antelope still live in the wild.

How long are the drives?

Most days have 1.5 to 2.5 hours of driving, with plenty of stops.

When is the best time to go?

June to September and December to February are drier for the roads and the boats.
