How old are the Gede Ruins?

Hundreds of years old. It was a busy Swahili town before it was abandoned. Nobody knows exactly why.

Will I see animals at Gede?

Usually Sykes monkeys in the trees. In the forest look for elephant shrews and rare birds.

Is it very hot?

The ruins sit under tall trees, so most of the walk is in shade. Bring water and a hat.

Can I start from Malindi?

Yes. Gede is about 30 minutes from Malindi town.
